African American Literature...more than a book

When I Googled African American Literature, I saw these images...






Beautiful, right?  Ironically, we'll discuss most of them this semester.  Your textbook is pictured above, 3rd from the left.  Kenneth Warren will challenge us.  Slavery will anger us.  I'll also expose you to new materials, insights, & philosophies.  I hope to disrupt what you think you know.  More importantly, I hope I'll piss you off.  If I haven't, then I haven't done my job.  If you wanted a class to teach you about African American culture/history, this particular class should do that and more. 

Here is where we'll blog after each Unit.  This Blog will serve as a sounding board as well as a studying tool for exam preparation.  I provide the tools, but it'll be up to you as to how you use them.
